Beekeeping is a great hobby, but a poor business.  Short and simple. 
There's no way to justify it financially, or any other way.  I don't golf 
anymore, and I don't spend much time in the bars or on the streets, so I 
keep bees....

It is just a lot of fun watching them.  I'm told ag chems are more a problem 
than suburb toxins.  Neighbors with swimming pools might be a consideration. 
If you're interested, find a local beekeeper and get a tag-along look at 
beekeeping.  They'll be thrilled to show you the ropes.

FYI, it just became legal to keep bees in the Bronx!  You'd be amazed at 
where/how bees are kept.
