Hi Jerry,
Justin Schmal's topic sounds interesting. Do you have an idea of how he gets the nitrogen? Or an email, so I could ask him?
I'm loving this spring weather and working outside as much sas I can. The old eyes aren't what they used to be so I have to watch the sunshine or wear shades.
My love to Barb and you too. Hector

Subject: [NAFEX] Talk, Fertilizing trees
Dear Readers,
This is a reminder the Indiana Nut Growers Scion Swap meeting is this Sunday. In addition to having scion wood available, free of charge, we'll have Mr. Justin Schmal, a recent graduate from Purdue present a talk on fertilizing trees.
Justin just finished his Masters Thesis in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources titled: EXPONENTIAL NITROGEN FERTILIZATION OF QUERCUS ROBUR SEEDLINGS IN COUNTY CARLOW; IRELAND. Justin will be working as a research staff member this year setting up chestnut planting on coal mine reclamation sites in southern Indian this year too. He's originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Attached are the first three pages of the current issue of the Hoosier Kernel with meeting details and a map to the meeting site in Indianapolis. You do not need be a member to attend or take scion wood.
