I have a couple of hops growing in western Wisconsin, and one thing that
I have learned is that they will spread a lot. Mine reach over 6 feet
or so to the fence around the neighbor's garden, in spite of me trimming
them back a few times in early summer, and then threaten her tomatoes.
I need to move them out in a field many yards from anything else, and
put up something tall for them to grow on.
