I am a Soil Scientist by trade (and also a docent at the Smithsonian's Soils
exhibit), and would be glad to speak on the subject.....except I won't be at
this year's meeting. However, I'll eventually get to another one, so remind
me the next time you see me at a meeting!

Maybe it is time to do it again. If you are interested the earliest mention
of the black earth work that I know of was published in Science magazine
someplace in the mid to late 1970s. Can anyone either recommend someone or
volunteer as a speaker on one or both topics that is likely to be at the
next meeting?
