We make sure that our 13-13-13 mix we use does not contain Ammonium Nitrate
because Ammonium Nitrate sweats and causes the mix to stick together and
harden in the spreader. And since all of our tractors use diesel fuel, the
2 mixed together can become pretty dangerous since we use high quantities of
fertilizer. If you are interested in the characteristics of slow release
nitrogen sources, you can find them at
http://webprod.wecon.com/WECOWeb/WECO/branch_includes/slow_release_nitrogen_sources.pdf.
There is some other useful information at
http://webprod.wecon.com/WECOWeb/WECO/product_page_fert.jsp. Hope you find
it as useful as we have.
