[NAFEX] Chimera

Hello,

I'm a little hesitant to way in on this subject as there are writers more
educated on this subject than I.

One way to create a chimera is called Mentoring. However I've read two
different definitions of mentoring. This definition would entail making two
preciously identical cut scions ready for bark grafting. One of species "a" and the
other of species "b" of which the chimera is to be made. Then each prepared
scion would be split lengthwise down the middle through the bud with a very sharp
thin instrument such as a razor blade. From these, two bark grafts could be
made, one a + b the other b + a. These are then brought together so the bud
halves are perfectly aligned and inserted as bark grafts. If one is extremely
lucky, and the bud halves don't die and they heal together then grow you could
get a chimera.

I hope I've written this such that it is understandable. I've never tried it
but have been tempted to using American and kaki persimmon.
