[NAFEX] mulching with pine needles

Pine needle mulch never bothered my peach trees. I used the needles for
more than 5 years on 4 peach varieties, and all of them were healthy trees
that produced abundant crops. I applied at least a 6-inch layer to conserve
moisture and moderate soil temperature. I also used this thick needle mulch
on perennial and rose beds. It worked well, and slugs were deterred by the
prickly needles--never had any damage.
