Greetings folks. I received an enquiry regarding a Ransom(e) apple. Anyone
familiar with this variety and description?
Regards,

"You might want to try using a rubber strip, polytape or something
else(Tannis Cuff mentioned some sort of electrician's tape, too)." Steve
Herje, USDA zone 3 SW WI
In case you don't know what kind of electrician's tape she was talking
about: It is called "Splicing Tape". Loew's and other type stores sell it.
Avoid other types called "vinyl electric tape", etc. Splicing Tape is
rubber (sic) and has a backing over the adhesive. It stretches and conforms
to the shape of the object being taped.
Practically anyone who work in a medical laboratory can slip you a sample of
Parafilm. We used to buy it by the gross. It shouldn't be as expensive as
it is sold for by nursery suppliers. It's "wunerful" for grafting, budding,
etc. but some of the best grafters I know use masking tape.
