It could depend on the load of your e-mail server, the listserver, and about 1,000,000 other possibilities.  As long as the messages are getting through without a lot of delay I wouldn't worry about it.

Here's a Q for the tech gurus: why is it I can send 2 emails to the nafex 
listserv, I'm a slow-ish typist so plenty of elapsed time between, and the 
SECOND gets "sent out" to members before the first ?
