Subject: [COMFOOD:] seeking New York mushroom or winter squash stories and recipes
I am a graduate student at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. For my MFA thesis project I am creating a self-published periodical called Spoonful New Yorkthat serves as a monthly guide to buying and cooking with local food inNew York City. It is unique because it focuses on one seasonalingredient each month — inspiring you with recipes, articles andcuriosities all related to the month’s ingredient.
The first sample issue is all about mushrooms. I am seeking the following submissions:
- Mushroom related stories (first hand adventures/experiences, or more fictional are both welcomed.)
- Recipes and cooking/preparing tips. Two types of recipes that I am on the hunt for are desserts and drinks that use locally grown mushrooms.
- Spore Prints
Because it is all about local food and New York I am seeking contributors from the New York area only.
Please send all submissions to: carlipierce at gmail.com
Please include your full name for credit and a little about yourself and what part of New York or a neighboring state that you live in.
The next sample issue will focus on Winter Squash so any stories/tips/art work and recipes about winter squash are welcome at this time as well.
Thank You,
Carli
