The size of broccoli heads is impacted easily by the plant spacing. If there is a premium in the market for really broad heads you can spread the spacing out to 30". But if they just want quality and small-medium size, stay at 18". Your total weight/acre will be higher. You can always bunch them if needed.

>We've been growing our broccoli 18" apart. We grow Premium Crop, Everest, and Packman. Everest is our best one by far. Even with it, we aren't getting 9" heads. 6 or 7" is the best we do. I wonder if I go to 20" will I get larger heads, or is the weather here more of a factor? We really don't have good broccoli growing weather in the spring, and for fall I'm transplanting in the heat of the summer.
