[Market-farming] cooler

We can keep our cooler, with the Cool Bot at 33 with no problem, and we do early in the season with the asparagus and broccoli. We gradually raise the temp. to 48-50 when we have squash and the other summer crops.
When we had our building built we insulated the floor as well. The only thing I wish we had done differently was to make the door bigger. My husband disagrees, and says with bigger doors you lose your cool air. True. And, if we are just loading buckets of produce into the cooler it's not a problem. We use grape lugs that are vented for most of our veggies though and they are a little awkward to load into and out the building. I can't get in a hurry or I end up with scraped knuckles from the door frame.
Another wish would be for a separate area to keep our red ripe tomatoes. If left outside in the shade until market, they don't hold well. The cooler is too cool for tomatoes although we have used it when we absolutely had to.
I guess nothing is perfect though, and we just do the best we can.
