Actually, there are some traps that work well, and you can make them, but I think you misunderstood my post.
Of course, I may have misunderstood you to mean that you feel that herbal bug repellants dont work (have you tried them?).
Michael

Oh, by the way, read up on voodoo, fire-walking, etc., you may be interested.

Hi Mike...you got me to laughing so hard I almost cracked a rib...:-)..
don't think we were/are talking about herbal remedies...just killing real
nasty stinging yellow jackets that the kind lady has...if that's what they
are. The kind of yellow jackets I have here on my place here in southern
Maine will swarm out of their nest and sting the s--- out of you if you come
anywhere near their home. So some spray...like Raid...that will reach out
from a few feet away is nice to use on them. If you spend any time on an
active organic farm and gardening forum you will soon learn what voodoo and
witchcraft is in relation to farming and gardening...:-) Michael...have a
nice day...and if you have a desire to dig out a yellow jackets nest and
crush them by hand...most here are in the ground...let me know cos I wouldn
t want to be close. Franklin

Franklin, are herbal remedies voodooo to you(kind of rymes, doesnt it?).
They shouldnt be, 75% of all of the patent medicines you buy (oops, I meant
prescription drugs, patent medicines are the old name), are derived from
herbs, and in europe, 35% of all the doctors use herbs as their primary care
methods. In the US, we are really quite backwards, and subject to sales
propaganda methods.
Michael

Hi Karen...I have found Raid spray works wonders with yellow jackets. It's
not the least toxic but will do the job in fine fashion. I wouldn't mess
around with witchcraft and voodoo methods of dealing with them either unless
you like to get stung real bad. Franklin
