That's interesting. All I can say is that I've had that happen only
rarely, and scattered around various seed companies, not particularly
Fedco. (The most recent case I remember offhand is supposedly-habanero
seed from Johnny's; they did their best to make it right, gave me free
seed of the right strain.) And I've been ordering a lot of different
items from Fedco for years now. So it's puzzling that they had so many
problems while I had almost none.

Agreed on all counts. -- They have the correct strain Amish Paste
tomato; this is maybe no longer "unusual" but the commonly found strain
seems to have gotten crossed with something and includes a lot of
plants that produce smaller tomatoes without the full flavor. That's
not a problem limited to one seed company; I tried several different
sources, and was adding it to my own seed-saving list in the hopes of
breeding it back to the strain I remember; but have also found the
right strain at Seed Savers.
