Liz, Thanks for the advice -- I was able to find a web blog that
suggested a quick rinse and then store the scallions with roots and
the white part covered with water in a glass bowl. Then, enclose the
tops and glass bowl with a plastic bag -- finally, put the bowl with
scallions in the cooler. I tried this and can only say that my
picking looked good with overnight storage and I sold out at the
market this morning. Has anyone else tried the glass bowl and plastic
bag routine? Results? Thanks, Tom
