I think I'll try some pennies in the water buckets on our pasture pens this
summer.  Some years the 1/4" tubing between the bucket and waterer get
pretty full of algae.

Good advice and cool tips. I have fooled around with sailboats for a number
of years and copper has been used in painting hulls (for a long time) to
stop algae growth.
