You can leave the cover on cucurbits without hoops. You may get a little abrasion but you'll also accelerate crop growth. The covers raise the heat through greenhouse effect. Your seeds will germinate faster for the same reason. The covers need to be removed once flowering begins so bees can pollinate the crops. Be sure to leave enough "give" in the cover so that as the crops grow, the cover has some slack to give the crop.

Once things come up put the row cover on hoops as most things don't like the weight of even the lightest covers.
I have another question about agribon.
Can I plant cucumber seeds and squash seeds in the ground, then when they germinate, then cover them up,. Or do I need to cover the seeds as soon as I plant them?
