Sift 3 cups flour, 1 2/2 teaspoons baking pwerder and 1 1/2 teaspoons =
salt. Set aside.
In large mixer bowl, beat 2/3 cup softened butter or margarine, and beat =
in 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 3 TABLESPOONS FRESH CINNAMON =
BASIL chopped ,
plus 1 tablespoon finely chopped lime peel. Beat until light and =
fluffy.
At low speed, beat in dry ingredients and mix in 1 cup chopped =
pistachios (or walnuts, etc.) by hand.=20
Turn out dough on lightly floured surface, divide in half, shape each =
into a roll 6-7 inches long, roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate until =
firm, at least 8 hours\\ (You can also freeze dough)
Preheat oven to 375, cut dough into 1/8 inch slices and bake on =
ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK, just until =
lightly browned.
THEY ARE DELICIOUS.=20
We used the cinnamon basil in wedding bouquet and flower arrangements as =
well. Made people VERY happy!
