Our 1918 unabridged dictionary lists pindar (also pinda, pindal, pinder) as
an American Negro terminology for the lowly peanut.

Subject: [Market-farming] Anyone speak Kentucky?

Reading about hog feeding in 1870 Kentucky, the gentleman says he was
feeding "................squashes, potatoes, pindars, corn etc.,.........."
so what is a pindar, not in any dictionary I have? next line he referrs to
six acres of pindars.
