Marty: Great you're trying to measure the effects of the garden program. Let us know how it comes out. A couple of observations:

1.Will they understand the use fo the word 'peer'?

2. On both your 7 point scale and on question #4 you have two questions so you won't know what they are answering. They may feel peaceful working with plants, but not so peaceful working in the garden if it involves working with others; and for #4 they may feel differently about working in the garden than healthy foods and plants. I'd break those out as separate questions if you want to know about both topics. Hope I've made myself clear.

Good luck,

Elaine

I am trying to develop a survey for the kids at the children's home where I am developing a garden/program. The kids will take it every so often. I see it as helping me and other staff understand what's going on with the kids in relation to the program. It is an attempt to "measure" the good effects of the program for ourselves and funders. As the kids take it they will at least consider being peaceful within, or the health effects of vegetables. I am so appreciative of how I feel when I am working in the garden or just being in nature that I am convinced of its healing effects.

This is what I have so far. If you can think of anything that should be included or have a better way of phrasing something please let me know.

  Thanks

  Marty Kraft
