I lived in Edmonton for two years - long ago now. 1979-1980. It was a
great place to live then except for one thing: the extreme cold.

But Edmonton is flat; in the middle of flat prairies. I don't *think*
hilly areas or mountainous areas have nearly as many tornadoes, although we
have had a few in our mountainous (by Eastern standards) area (very few
though).

Pat - Zip 16901, where we are having freezing rain at the moment, in
Northern PA. We have about a foot of snow on the ground, covered with a
glaze of ice. And now freezing rain. Ugh.
