finally switched to growing most things in Self-Watering Containers. Quack
grass was a major part of the reason for the switch.  

I think our entire backyard is composed solely of quack grass.  

Our front yard is shaded by an oak tree, so it's not a suitable place for
growing veggies.  The oak tree is good in that it shades the house; so
we're not taking it down until we must (it's growing too big).  But for
now, it's either garden in containers or fight quack grass....
