Bill and Steve I really agree. The junk I have seen in the stores and some of the markets we attend, I wouldn't take home and feed the hog's. We saw some sprouts the other day that were buggy and had black spots on them and the vendor was actually trying to sell them. Stuff in the grocery store's are not any better or maybe worst, but the wholesale produce companies and the groceries will not buy local unless we can furnish year around, what a line of !!!!!!!!!!!! . I have been working with the Armstrong Research Farm trying to establish a regional food system to supply our local schools, hospitals, and restraunts. After working on this for a year, here comes all the shippers getting their business on board because they don't have the expenses we have. We all have hoop building, coolers, transplanters, tractors and etc. All they have is a pickup to go to their auction and haul their shipped in crap to the account that we are serving.
Phil
