I checked on the price of a new Tuff-bilt a year or so ago. It was around 6000 and that included the belly mount cultivators. If I'm remembering right, they didn't have one ready to ship at the time. It's been awhile so I don't remember the details but it seems like they had stopped making them and were in the process of starting up again? I'm not sure.
We had a tuff-bilt on the research farm where I used to work. We had a lot of trouble with it. Minor things, really, but kind of a pain if you were in a hurry to get something done and the thing wouldn't start. I mentioned this to the salesman I was talking to and he said they were aware of those problems and had made some changes.
We ended up buying a small tractor from Atwoods. That, and the 5ft mower cost us around 4000. We've bought a couple of small implements to fit the tractor and we're pretty happy with it. It is one of those weird makes that no one has heard of, and the owners manual is is the most garbled, Chinese converted to English mess that none of us can understand, but other than that... it's been a good little tractor for our farm.
