[Market-farming] Undercutting prices

One way to stop undercutting by hobby growers 
is to get your market board/manager to raise 
the vendor fees. If there is a $15 a space 
per market charge than you will see those 25¢ 
a pound tomatoes go for more because at those 
prices the undercutters won't be making any 
money, it will all go towards paying off the 
daily fee.

A person seriously doing market farming for a 
living should easily be able to absorb $15 to 
$20 a market (not to mention it is tax 
deductible) And a hobby grower will either 
raise prices or quit.

so get you markets to raise the fees and most 
your undercutting should stop.

more money means you market will be able to 
buy advertising or pay a market manager or 
some other positive thing that will bring in 
more customers to your market. A win win 
situation-fewer/No people undercutting and 
more customers buying
