Shade should be unnecessary in September in the mid-Atlantic, even if
temps are still warm in the middle of the day because your light levels
and photoperiod are falling right now. This is especially true in a hoop
house or tunnel because the plastic has fairly low transmissivity.
So take them off and roll them up till next year.
