[Market-farming] zinnia seed are up

HEY Alison!

Since I see you're busy on this list serve and not working, I thought I'd let you know that the zinnias I planted 2 days ago in 812's and put on the germination mats are up.  Looks like good germination from old seed.

Oh, and for those of you like Shelly, Marie and Joan...don't worry, I have the mini cam pointed at the seedlings with a watering wand turned on overhead, so she thinks I'm working and not goofing off on the computer.

  Since we usually are seeding 25-40 flats at a time, we use
  germination mats in a cool greenhouse.  With a bottom temp of 75-80, even in
  a cool greenhouse, seedlings are up fast!  And, since it's cooler, we get
  shorter stockier growth for our transplants.  They aren't cheap, but our
  four have been in use 10 years so far, and are going strong. I'd hate to see
  what a germination chamber large enough to handle 40 1020's would cost!
