Hi, Folks!
The following is from the President of Slow Food-Philadelphia Chapter. The
international Slow Food organization promotes biodiversity, sustainable
agriculture, taste education, and support of local artisanal food
producers. By nominating a food to the "Ark," these foods (and the
processes that make them) receive both local and international publicity
that can help those who produce the food make enough money to keep
producing that food!

As a member of the Ark and Presidia committee, I would like to ask for help
with nominating special products of our area that need and deserve the
support of Slow Food. The following criteria should be considered when
nominating a food to the Ark USA:
* Does the food provide a unique, pleasurable, high quality
gastronomic experience?
* Is the food or its method of production at risk of extinction?
* Is food produced or harvested sustainably?
* Is the food historically, socio-economically, or culturally tied to
a specific region or locality? Is it cultivated or produced according to
specific techniques?
No product containing genetically modified raw materials and no transgenic
breed or plant will be placed on the Ark USA.
Nominations can be made directly on the Ark website
