Thanks Roxann, it means a lot when a scientist homesteader tells me hers 
tested OK! Have you encased your tank in anything...dry stacked rock, 
lumber, a building, etc? How close should the tank be located to where 
we are going to use the water? Or does a pressure pump somewhere 
alleviate that?

Of course we would like to locate it such that we could collect 
rainwater off our largest roofs, but if we go through another drought 
like this summer we might need to have water delivered. I would think 
the latter requires it be near our circular drive (why I'm asking 
aesethetics questions), as access through our main gate unfortunately 
goes right over the septic tank the previous owners had installed. Or do 
water delivery trucks come with a pump set up that they could still get 
it to a backyard tank?

Anyone out there having water delivered in lieu of a well?
