Thanks Roxann, it means a lot when a scientist homesteader tells me hers
tested OK! Have you encased your tank in anything...dry stacked rock,
lumber, a building, etc? How close should the tank be located to where
we are going to use the water? Or does a pressure pump somewhere
Of course we would like to locate it such that we could collect
rainwater off our largest roofs, but if we go through another drought
like this summer we might need to have water delivered. I would think
the latter requires it be near our circular drive (why I'm asking
aesethetics questions), as access through our main gate unfortunately
goes right over the septic tank the previous owners had installed. Or do
water delivery trucks come with a pump set up that they could still get
it to a backyard tank?
Anyone out there having water delivered in lieu of a well?
> sage, we use a 1500 gallon plastic tank. i've brought our water in to work and tested it for volatiles and it shows nothing. once it did show an unidentified something, but the filter removed whatever it was. i sampled before and after the filter. i would still like to have the ferrocement tanks for catching rainwater, too, though.
