For sulfur bacteria here, they recommend a chlorinator then a charcoal filter. the water comes from the ground smelling like rotten eggs, and i think it is due to a bacteria. but the bacteria isn't toxic and the sulfur water doesn't cause health issues, just no one likes it. other recommendations were to put the water in a pitcher overnight and the smell would dissipate. that would only be useful for drinking water, not taking baths, etc. the chlorinator works on the chemistry and the charcoal removes the chlorine.
