[Homestead] Garden fun

Oh Bev, I'm jealous. It's about this time of year that I start hating
winter. Enough already! I was out looking at the beds where my peas will
go...at least I can see the ground! The snow is finally gone (except for the
huge piles...they'll be around for a couple more weeks), but the soil is
still frozen solid. It's supposed to warm up starting tomorrow (20's at
night, 40's during the day), so maybe I can get my peas in by mid or late
March.

I've got flats of Ailsa Craig and Walla Walla onions and Leeks started. I'll
set them out in late April or early May, depending on the weather. I also
just started a few cell paks of early tomatoes in my never-ending quest for
early tomatoes...a few will go in the greenhouse, and I've got a new scheme
of fencing and plastic and Remay for early outdoor tomatoes. I'm itching to
plant more, but it's too early.
