[Homestead] Looking for a partner?

Lynn,

Yes, that can be the case.

In our case I was the one rooted with a farm and animals, and my husband
was living in the city but wanted to farm. On Green Singles there was a
place to note whether you were willing to relocate. We had both said we
were. Once we got serious we looked at different options.

Farms in his area were out of our price range and unattractive to me
(flat). I don't like winter. We looked at areas in North Carolina which
perhaps would be a compromise on weather, but that would mean a total
upheaval of both our lives (not to mention my animals'). I put out
resumes to both areas and got no response. He instantly loved my farm,
animals, and was able to land a great job. He also had less stuff and no
animals requiring relocation. As it turns out, he loves being able to
garden all year and has grown very used to the climate. So it worked out
I didn't have to move. It was our most sensible plan.

I think if you join any dating service you will need to be upfront about
not wanting to relocate, and to look for potential partners who want the
country life but don't have it yet. They are out there!
