[Homestead] Mountain lions Hatching Round 3

We have two dogs, a Pitcur Hound and an AmStaff. When any of us go
wandering, the dogs go with us. Mountain lions are opportunistic and they
don't particularly care to make a big effort. Between the clearing and the
dogs, our property is more work than they care for, so they go elsewhere.

If it ever makes an effort to bother our livestock, then we'll have a
"discussion" about who gets to live where.

We have a bear that wanders through with her cub each spring. She doesn't
bother the garbage, she just uses our property as part of her trail to get
from Point A to Point B. Works for me.

There's a bobcat that lives down by our miner's cabin. S/he stays away from
the house property and the chickens, so we get along fine.

Now, the ground squirrels and the raccoons are a whole other story. Them I
hate! The cats have gotten the ground squirrel population way down and the
few that remain have moved to the neighboring properties. The Siamese cat
kind of keeps the raccoon somewhat at bay (they don't come around during the
evening hours anymore since she chased them off a couple of times. We just
have to keep everything shut up at night. However, they keep getting in the
garbage and they are going to end up dog food!
