Over 1600 cities and rising nationwide are holding Tax Protests in the form of Tea Partys this APRIL 15TH 2009.
FYI - I'm going to be a featured speaker at one of the local Tea Parties.
If you can put aside Spring Fever for one day,,,,,,,,, this is one day you should go attend a local event ---- if you are MAD AS HELL about government waste, government pork, government bail-outs - and especially the hidden inflation tax.
excerpt from a press release:
"The recent increase in the number of protests is attributed to a movement started by arch-conservative CNBC reporter, Rick Santelli, who on-air recently protested the government spending and waste contained in the recently passed stimulus bill.
“There is so much pork in this bill it would give the healthiest man a heart attack!” Santelli bellowed on CNBC. “Millions here for the arts. Millions there for roads. What’s a couple hundred million for unemployment benefits?! Sure, why not? Let’s encourage people not to get jobs. Let’s just give them more taxpayer money to not work and not pay taxes which would go to someone else who is not working!”
“It’s lunacy!”
Americans, increasingly frustrated with their lack of representation by their congressional representatives over the pork barrel and bail-out spending decisions of their tax dollars, are gathering forces across the nation to make their congressional representatives hear their voices. New American Tea Party groups are springing up across the country in response to their frustration."

“All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome. Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” ~ George Orwell
