[Homestead] Back to socialism

I don't know. I do know that there is a big difference in a government providing social programs for a homogeneous populous like the Swiss , the Swedes, etc., and even social programs in a heterogeneous populous such as ours. I was paraphrasing a Nobel Prize winner, back when that prize was truly significant. .
I live, in real life, amidst, to quote Swift, a confederacy of dunces. They are highly educated and successful, as a rule.
Some might even describe me in polite terms. But, I see their lives in terms of vacuous consumerism. As far as the people around me know, I'm just another penguin in a large group of progressives. I don't talk, I just listen.
On this list, I talk, as well as listen. And, I put myself out with my honest opinions, and just like others, argue in favor of those opinions. Do I really think that I'm going to change anyone's mind? No. But, I enjoy the banter and the "fellowship" on the list.
If we all believed the same way, the list would be too boring to read ....bobford

That will probably surprise the Scandinavians.
