Aaah, I don't mind admitting weaknesses.   And, I did know that 
"obtuse-ness"  wasn't a word, which is why I used the dash.   Just 
couldn't be bothered to look up the correct one.   Lazy.   See, another 
weakness...   ;-)

Someone told me once to not publicly admit your weaknesses, I haven't 
yet
learned that lesson because I do it all the time. I was unfamiliar with
obtunuity myself. My husband, who was a Latin scholar in school, 
probably
knew the word. He strengthens my vocab skills on an almost weekly basis.

If it makes you feel better Ray, I would have used obtuseness. I' make 
up
new words by adding prefixes and suffixes to existing words.
