Lynn, wasn't she paraphrasing a quotation from Lincol?. I'm not religious, but when I was young, they always had a church service for my relatives before they were shipped off to Viet Nam. I think the idea is that you are praying NOT for G-d to be on your side but that you are on G-d's side. I think it is a pretty standard "Johnny Goes Off To War" type church prayer. Maybe someone's whose actually been in a church in the past 30 years (I haven't) can clarify; but I'm pretty sure that's borrowed from Lincoln, and used often.....bobford

Palin was the one who brought religion into it. She asked people to pray
to achieve "God's will" and get the pipeline built. The Iraq war is "a
task from God". Well gosh...what kind of heathen pinko would argue
