[Homestead] Scary as h*ll

Here's my thought on the stock market, real estate, and other
investments. It may be a bit simplistic, but here goes...
GAMBLING! Hello! Duh!
You, and all participants, myself included, are betting that things are
going to fall to your advantage. They don't always do that.
It's like life insurance. You are betting that you are going to live a
shorter time than the insurance company thinks you are. In other
words, you are betting you are gonna die. Some win, some lose.
Or Speeders. Every time you speed, you are betting you can get away
with it. Sometimes, though, you lose. The more you speed, the more
likely it is that you will eventually lose.
Gambling implies risk.
And the game is ALWAYS stacked in favor of the house.

Gene; I would be "down in the mouth" too, If I was forced to sell
everything
right now. I would lose my shirt (pants and underwear, too) if I had
to
liquidate my real estate holdings. That may happen if the worst that
the doom
and gloom people are projecting. But, for now, I'm holding and hoping
one day,
some of the real estate value will re-emerge ....bobford
