Most "stuff" has a home page and on the home page is an "about us" section.
If they list any "who" on that section, then you Google that "who." A lot
of it is simply following the bread crumbs. Bio's of the who, websites such
as whois and then using the wayback type sites to see where they've come up.
And, I still have my passwords and access codes to legal, medical and
academic sites/journals from when I worked in those fields. A lot of stuff
is in old legal "stuff" and in old academic papers and journals. Then I
trace them under funding and follow the bread crumbs to the original
dollars.

to be able to quickly discern the 'origin' of a piece, like you did
above. What tools or resources do you use to do this? It is something
that I haven't been about to successfully do.
