So don,
Are you saying you LIKED the republicans having their six years??? I
didn't I also didn't
like the Carter years where the Dems controlled everything. You will never
convince me that the
Dems are cleaner than the Reps. They are all politicians. This though is
worse, the Dems had
the ability to filibuster and did when it mattered and forced the Reps to
negotiate and change
bills before they allowed their passage. We are looking at one party having
complete control
with no filibuster or veto to restrain them. Never the need to negotiate.

How quickly we forget. We had six years of Republican control of the
congress and administration. What was the result of that? A slight budget
surplus (if you forget the SSI money) turned into massive deficients.
Patriot act. Congressional corruption with at least one Republican
Represenitive still in jail, others who have not gone to trial yet. The K
Street Project, two ill conceived wars, and so on. An administration filled
with incompetents, many from the industries they regulate. The list goes
on. We can only hope that the adults will take over again.

And don't say that the Democrats are not doing anything, they are facing an
obstructionist block of Repugnicans in the Senate who are interested only in
a power grab and could care less about the country.
