My suggestion would be to become as informed as possible then make decisions based on that. For each of us it will be different. Increasing the self sufficiency of a homestead, finding ways to live frugally in an urban setting, or maybe buying a cave in Utah and filling it with guns and cigarettes. I have maybe 30 years left and can afford to go live in a deep woods homestead. My 32 year old son has maybe 60 years left and needs to make money to live. My 5 year old grandson has many years and I have no idea what he will be facing. What will his world look like at 32, at 62?
As for groups, there are several. Homesteading, gardening, modern survival, living on less, building small homes, etc.
One of these days I hope to collect my thoughts on what the future portends. It is a moving target with some things happening faster that anyone anticipated.
