I promise, Lynda, I'm not trying to be a smart ass..(and I haven't seen
the ads)
One way to store CO2 is to make dry ice. It's easy and relatively cheap
to make.
We live not too far from a coal burning plant and there is always a
cloud above it. I've always wanted to take a tour, just haven't found
that round tuit. Now, after 911, I doubt they even offer tours...but
anyhow, instead of releasing steam and CO2 directly into the atmosphere,
it would seemingly be a good idea to spend some energy freezing
emissions into dry ice. Then, the ice could be sold as refrigerant,
which would reduce overall electrical demand. At least you could get
one more use out of it before you release it...Someone enterprising soul
could develop a car that runs off dry ice pellet fuel...or the ice could
be used to keep livestock or construction workers cool in the heat of
summer, or used for ice blasting, or any number of uses before it goes
into the atmosphere. At least someone or something could benefit a
little..I know it doesn't help much...
Now that I think about it a bit more, I guess that would be kind of like
getting a foot massage while you have a plastic bag over your head...you
enjoy it only for so long...lol
