There is a Michaels and a JoAnn store about 30 miles from here...I'll check both places...
I've heard of the plastic bag arts-not for me at this moment in time, but I am going to try the rag rug thing. I've been making strips for a while now.

Have you checked Michaels or whatever flavor of craft store you have? They
carry crochet hooks & knitting needles and the like.
My Great-Grandma used to crochet rugs, bowls, etc. out of plastic bags. They
were colorful, not warm and cozy. She made 'bowls' by using the front
of
cards (birthday, seasonal, etc.) and punching a hole in the side and
connected the cards with the plastic crochet. She also braided room-sized
rugs from scrap material torn into strips.
Have fun with your project.
