[Homestead] "Old" apple trees - How to identify?

It might be worth it to bring some cuttings. It will take a few years to
find out what you have, but some old, old varieties have been revived from a
cutting or two.
Alternatively, the apples might taste like mush. :)
It doesn't cost much to take a cutting.
