I jumped the gun, that one is fixed.  Somehow it thought it was looking for 
a VPN connection.  When I went into the Internet configuration and told it 
to never dial up, The error message disappeared.

What got me on this search is another problem that just showed up.  I use a 
Ham Radio program called Echolink.  Echolink is a Voip program that allows 
me to connect to various repeaters and join in nets.  It has worked on this 
machine for over a year now including the recent upgrade.  Suddenly it 
stopped working on the wireless connection.  It still works on the cell 
phone.  When I run the tests it tells me that the UDP ports are not blocked 
but receive fails.    This is a wireless network and I have ports 5198 and 
5199 set to allow UDP in the router.  My thinking now is that Verison DSL 
has done something and I am researching that.
