[Homestead] Propane prices

Well, I'm not even asking what the price is here right now. We topped the
tank (250 gallon tank) in March and it was $500. The prices out here are
closer to $3.00 a gallon. We are downsizing on anything gas. Got rid of
the stove (Happy Dance <g>), got rid of the old walloven that had a pilot,
turned off the heater. Even with the cold snap we had in April, we still
have half a tank. We're getting an on-demand water heat in the next couple
of months and we're going to wrap all the pipes under the house. We're
thinking about getting a smaller on-demand electric water heater to put
under the sink for the kitchen since even though we've got the electric
stove now and it's been well over a 100 for days on end and we're using the
two little air-conditioners, our electric bill is less than it was last
year.

I do know that the price of propane and the price of gas out here makes no
sense at all. It goes up and down like a yo-yo with no rhymme nor reason.
When the price of a barrel of crude went down, the price of diesel went down
but the price of gas went up. With the last spike in the price of a gallon
of crude, the price of diesel went up and the price of gas went do. Go
figure!
