The world uses 82 million barrels of oil a day ...
>> even IF that well could be successfully pumped, and IF it yielded
>> the very maximum estimate, and IF you could get it from the deep
>> well site to on shore pipelines ... all those if's ..... that well
>> couldn't supply the world oil but for six months.

James, Jack 2 is just one well. The whole point of this story/discovery
is that prior to Jack 2 striking oil, it was thought that there were no
reserves that deep anywhere. So, when Jack 2 hit it rich, so to speak,
it not only provided a new reserve for possible US resources (I had read
that Jack 2 alone would provide the US with a minimum of 2 years of
petroleum.), but it opened the door for ultra deep drilling all over the
world in areas previously thought barren.
By the way, there would be no pipeline in this equation. From all I
have read, the oil would be pumped directly to tankers for transport to
refineries, and this oil is light and sweet, as they say, easy to refine.

Bev, who is in and out of the house doing all kinds of things today, so
is having to resort to disjointed conversations... :)
