Propane refrigerators are very much more expensive to run that then normal
electrical unit. The reason being that they are absorption units. What
this basically means that a heating element (electric) or a flame heats a
powder which turns into a gas. The gas absorbs heat to return to a
powder. The normal refrigerator uses electricity to run a compressor that
compress a gas into a liquid to estract heat and a liquid into a gas to
absorb heat.
