If you meant fig newtons, well, yuck. But they do keep well.
I was referring to the noodles that come in a plastic package, not
"cup'o'soup". Others obviously get better prices on ramen noodles than we
get here.
An easy to store staple is rice. Long grain, wild or white, anything but
minute rice. Minute rice is as bad as quick grits. When you master the art
of cooking rice, the possibilities are endless. Dinty Moore beef stew tastes
good over well-cooked rice. I suspect canned dog food would taste good over
rice with a dab of butter. Millions of Asians can't be wrong.
