"Whoa, Nellie" - I don't know where mine is,
but did you read Wendell Berry's view on
*place* as in "my place" (his) "in the world"
(where his home/family lived/lives and the
great majority of Americans *don't* any more) ?? 
I don't even remember if what I saw in ?the? 
magazine was 'the whole thing' or if it was 
part of a longer essay ...
